Back Cheap Remote Microphone
KM-208 I bought this system to try because it was super cheap (under $10AUD) and I was curious. So far it has worked and the quality has been better than I expected. I've only tested it on a couple of videos I made in my shed at distances up to 9 metres (about 30 feet) and so far its performance has been fine for what I wanted.

What I need at this stage is something to record a running commentary as I work which I can later use as a guide to edit in good quality audio. For this work it is fine. I could actually live with the mono sound if it weren't for the annoying hiss that is present whenever the transmitter is turned on. Using Audacity to remove the hiss distorts the voice unacceptably, making the end result unusable.

If you are looking for something that can do production quality audio then I'm afraid you need to look elsewhere and pay more. On the other hand if you are like me and just need to record some notes for your own use then this might be a perfect fit.
