Back Can You Save Money on Cutoff Discs?
Failed Hole Saw Excluding capital equipment, consumables are the most expensive items in the workshop, be it a professional shop or a hobbyist. Anything that can be done to reduce these costs is worthwhile.

If you use cut off discs on your grinder then you know how expensive they are to use regularly. I pay somewhere around $2.50 to $3.00 each for my 100mm (4") diameter discs, depending on how big a pack I buy. I should also point out that I buy the 1.0mm thick discs because I prefer them for most jobs.

As I am a hobbyist I am always on the look out for ways to save money on consumables that I can invest on other areas like more steel.

I came across an add for cheap cut off discs on EBay the other day (at 90 cents each) and decided to give them a try. In order to conduct a comparison test I also purchased 2 discs of different brands that are commonly used and considerably more expensive.

I've tried to conduct a fair test and I present my conclusions at the end of the video.
